1. OK WORKING WITH BLOGS WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE FOR ME. I liked buddaism ALOT. I mean the thought of " the more you want the more you suffer" to me, is so true. If you look at the movies, the bad guy always tries to be greedy and gets nothing in the end. I wish real life was like that sometimes, hopefully in the future with someone new as our president, all those big corporations who take and dont give away as much as they take will get theirs in the end. Daosim is to me, very chill..lol..what i mean by that is they have no god, no bible and are very enviornmental friendly which to me is something we can all agree upon. plus they got that cool symbol that i always liked as a kid. lol. tHE ISLAM religion is interesting too because is involves not only people but animals and the mountains as well. we are all apart of this world and if we do our part in taking care of it then we will be awarded in the afterlife. all these religions have something in common that promotes peace and is against selfishness. I respect that and i now understand more why so many people around the world believe in such beliefs

BLOG 7...DAY At The Museum

Holy crap that day was preety interesting due to the fact that ive never seen such a huge freaking tree stump in my life before!! The Mark Twain Tree in Ca. grows so freaking big..they are often referred to "giant trees" and wow to the people who did not go..you really missed an incredible sight!!

(I was pretty surprised to find out we werent going as a group however) LOL We all seperated

I learned that a clan named the Heta was actually extinct after settlers took over thier lands and destroyed thier rain forest envioronment. The clan was originated in brazil and cannot be delared a human society living today.

The indeginous renan of sarawaks have thier rainforest being destroyed and logged away. Only 100 of the people remain and are declared as hunters. however with no animals presnt thier purpose and way of living is being threatened. They are often arrested for trespassing on thier own lands! thats messed up!!!

Their were alot of material used in the museum that was also found in al gore's inconvieniet truth. i found it horrible to find out just how much destruction human way of life is to this world.

I had a good time and got to make new friends in the visit..hopefully some change will come of these issues

I chose to do my research project on the treatment of indeginous people in mexico. The history between white mexicans and indeginous people is not a good one. Milkions of indeginous people are considered on the poor level of society in the states of mexico. After being dominated in the spaniard arrival in the 16th century..indeginous people have had thier lands destroyed or taken away. they struggle to make new rights and be heard from a political point of view. They were denied land harshly and were forced to live in small communites and are scattered throughout the 31 states of mexico.

In my paper i will be talking about how their lands were treated after being taken over and thier lifestyles in the past and the present. I will show how racism played a huge role towards the destruction of thier main home lands and the forced position of poverty they were harsly put into.

Dumpster diving

Holy crap man..these people are really taking enviormental responsibilities to the extreme!! While i was reading the second link on this topic http://freegan.info/ , I was simply amazed. I dont think i can spend my day in a dumpster searching for food that was thrown away in order not to purchase or support business that produce foods in order to make a profit, even if the food is not properly prepared. I respect the fact and understand why these people called freegans take part in these events. I do like the idea of not using cars to get around and instead hitchike with friends or take the train...i dont have a car yet and i do take the train lol...so thats cool with me...i dont think i'll ever try to hitch a ride with some stranger though..not that they will stop...this is new york. There is goods being wasted, i agree with that..but hopefully these foods are being examined by these freegans before they start reusing them. i agree that other things such as bikes, cds, and stuff can be reused and sent to countries whose chances of obtaining such items are rare.

I agree that we have to take charge in our lives and not be a freaking puppet to our bosses. We must think for ourselves and if we stand up for ourselves and respect our personal values on issues we care about i think our bosses will respect that and not show us the boot (fired). Lol that would suck. I love the fact that abandoned houseing can be turned to activity buildings for our children or the homeless people in our community. I think that homeowners should have like a time limit to vacant or rent their houses or else they lose it!! har har har..or at least get fined..lol...im glad there are groups who are dedicated to this...honestly..i dont think i can personally do it though..although i can do small things and help myself not be a total idiot in these types of situations. a car running on vegetable oil doesnt sound like a bad idea..i like vegies!

I watch televsion...yes i am hooked...but i dont watch it as much as you think...only when i have time! i usually watch it with my family which in my opinion doesnt say much cuz when we watch it we are like zombies not saying a word to each other, unless we yell at my father for occasionally throwing a few farts every so often. I do search the web when im at school or in my room. I go to myspace.com DONT JUDGE ME!@@@ lol and i often check my email. the truth is i also do most of my school work on the computer and since two important people recently went to the NAVY...i often keep in touch with them via email. so i got some good and bad habits on the internet. I dont shop...im a guy!!! lol...fact is..most of day is very busy for me. I work, go to school and everynight im at the gym from 9 0 clock pm to like 11 o clock (closing time). when i get home ill watch like an hour of t.v and go to bed cuz i gotta do it all over again. I feel that working out keeps my mind at bay...and i often see that time as a time for me to think about whats going on in my life...and what i can do to make it better. I dont read books, but i read the newspaper lol does that count? I do wish i can be more creative though..sometimes i have these ideas to write songs and movies..but i get too lazy to write them down..if i had to change anything it would be that...one day ill write them down..you never know if some lucky assface does it before me...stupid mind readers

The worst problem??

The worst problem is the most obvious to me. That problem is the amount of pollution in the air we humans create. The amount of c02 we put in there. Its actually a DOMINO EFFECT...You see as we put more pollution in the air, our atmosphere becomes more thicker which traps more heat than we need in our planet which then raises the temperatures into more than our planet is used to. This warms the waters in our oceans which MELTS the icecaps, which then RAISES water levels and DESTROYS cities, all while more STRONGER/DANGEROUS storms and tornadoes and hurricanes become more capable of existing..which then DESTROYS more cities, and KILLS more people. The temperatures then make the habitats of annoying MOSQUITOS and other pest who SPREAD VIRUSES more frequent and also able to consist. The warm waters then destroys the CORAL REEFS that feed the smaller fishs which feeds the bigger fish which feeds us HUMANS!!. FOOD CHAINS will be DESTROYED..species will be extinct.....it just creates problems all around our world. so WHAT CAN WE DO!!!!!!!

I think that the united states of america has to make global warming more aware to other countries poor or rich. Countries that are our allies or not must take responsibility towards how much pollution they put into our atmosphere. Im talking about not only banning forest fires in our countries but also in thier countries. We have to take some actions to really drive it into their heads that what they are doing in brazil or other countries where mass forests exist involving forest fires has to be put to an end. Maybe we can reward these countries for their efforts and establish a more safer world. i know that its definitly not what we need right now for this country to start giving away even more money...but we can get out of our little economic status, and when we do its time we start spending money on what is important for the sake of all humans and living things...YOU KNOW!!!......oh yeah....and cars....HYBRID CARS BABY!!!! that should cut down pollution imput by half!!! little things like this makes a HUGE Effort. One step at a time people!!!

What my biggest concern based on al gores book..is on page 600...based on thier statistics...in about 45 years from now...our earth will be at temperatures of 600 degrees...no life will be able to live under such heat....we either need a huge air conditioner that keeps the whole world cool...or we die...we need to change now!! i dont have any kids...but when i do, i dont want them to die such a horrible death by the time they turn 10 years old or something...THink about that

How will I follow my passion?

Im going to become a Physical Therapist. I have actually recently discovered this career by taking a professional advancement class here in laguardia. I am currently a liberal arts major, and I plan on getting my assoicates degree. After achieving this, I will attend Hunter's college because I heard they have a good P.T program. I will probally stay there until I get my masters in P.T and live my life doing something I love.

How will I use my education to make the world a better place?

I plan on helping people recover from thier injuries and help maintain there life physically and emotionally. When people get into life threatning accidents, it can sometimes pose a problem to thier life emotionally. I want to motivate them back into leading a normal and productive life. Most of all, Im going to motivate them back into health. I want to teach them exercises and encourage them not to quit. This of course means to exercise and EAT healthy. By eating healthy they can then eat more organic foods and help the earth in yet another way. I plan on keeping track with my patients and establish relationships to ensure they are leading good lives. Everyday can be a converstion and motivation to doing something good for our earth. As a side hobby I wanna help train people how to exercise, so you can only imagine how many conversations that is with people....and believe me I can talk my butt off!!!

The enviorment and my mind

Hello everyone, ok i know i had 2 weeks basically to do this assignment but i couldnt figure out how to use this at all. To be honest, I dont think I help the enviorment like im supposed to. I feel like I can do a lot more with myself. I mean I do recycle (who doesnt?) and every time I see something on the floor whether it be on a bus or at work or sometimes even in the street I throw it out in the public waste disposal. However instead of having my mom drive me to school sometimes, I can probaly take the bus or the train and limit the amount of pollution in our air. I usually do take the train as much as possible, however I could try and use that form of transportation all the time. I also drink a lot of water so that means I purchase a lot of plastic bottles of water. Instead of using plastic bottles for my own selfish desires of thirst =( I can just purchase a re-usable water bottle and keep refilling my water for the next day. At least like this I can do my small but important part in keeping this world healthy. My biggest concern is of course the "Global Warming" issue. I guess the reason for that is in about 40 years if we as the population of the world keeping polluting our air, our tempatures should reach temperatures in which living organisms (including us) would not be able to survive in. We will all be burned to death by our own sun. How is that good for our sons and daughters that we hope will live on in this earth after we are gone? and I myself is only 20 years old so by 60 years old im gonna be cooked!! we have to do the neccessary actions in order to prevent this crisis from happening. In my opinion it all starts with the election of barrack obama who strongly supports the fight against global warming. thanks for reading everyone.
